The party was in full swing at Osterdeich, but then came the bad weather! The 20th annual "Fan's Day" drew Werder supporters to Bremen from all over Germany on Saturday morning for an event which puts the fans firmly in the spotlight. There was something for everyone on the programme, from talks to live music to catwalks... the Werder fans really were spoilt for choice.
However, due to increment weather this year's edition of "Fan's Day" had to be postponed for over an hour - a huge downpour accompanied with thunder and lightning soaked fans, players, coaches and Werder legends alike during the autograph sessions. Furthermore, the presentation of Zlatko Junuzovic as Player of the Season had to be unceremoniously cut short. Rouven Schröder, who was giving a talk on stage when the storm began, didn't let the rain dampen his spirits. "That's Bremen for you. Therefore we won't let it affect our mood on this great day," said the scouting director.

Just like Schröder, the huge number of Green-White fans didn't let the typical Bremen weather stop them enjoying their day. In any case, the performance from band "Afterburner" ensured that the party got started again straight after the rain delay. The Werder women's side also unveiled their new kits for the 2015/16 season, which then went on sale for the first time in the WERDER Fan-World club store. The new collection was paraded up and down the catwalk with a fashion show in the Fan-World shortly after midday.
Minutes before the storm broke out at around 11:00 CEST, there was a huge rush as Viktor Skripnik and his team took part in an open training session in preparation for the day's main event - seeing the Werder first team in action against Europa League champions Sevilla FC at the Weserstadion. The encounter, which marks the hardest test the Green-Whites have faced so far this pre-season, kicks off at 17:00 CEST on Saturday evening.
