Sevillistas, Nervionenses, Blanquirrojos - Sevilla collects nicknames like it does titles. On Saturday, 25th July, at 17:00 CEST, the Europa League champions are coming to the 2015 Fans' Day at the Weser-Stadion. This meeting will be the first real test for the Green-Whites this pre-season, with none of the previous opponents in friendlies posing any real threat and so Viktor Skripnik's side has gone unbeaten. Will this series come to an end or will Werder remain unbeaten after the ninth friendly match?

The Andalusia club was founded in 1905 and was one of the founding members of the Primera División 23 years later. The ‘Sevillistas' were a dominant force in the early seasons and won its first and only league title in 1946. Coach Unai Emery has a total of twelve nationalities in his squad, containing a wealth of international experience. The club is the first to defend its Europa League title and has earned a lot of international attention from its performances in recent years.

First meeting between the clubs

This game is a real highlight for Werder as the two clubs have never met before. There are also few obvious connections between the two clubs. The only one is former Werder player Marko Marin who spent the 2013/14 season on loan at Sevilla to gain experience after he left the Weser.

Like the Green-Whites, Sevilla are also regarded as a reputable club for development, as seen by the well publicized departures of striker Carlos Bacca (to AC Milan) and defender Aleix Vidal (Barcelona) during the summer. Ciro Immobile has recently moved on loan to Sevilla from the Bundesliga, and the Dortmund striker now has the opportunity to prove himself again in Seville. The Italian is probably waiting to get his first goal for his new employers in the game against Werder.

Tickets are still available for the game against Sevilla at the Weser-Stadion.
