The SV Werder squad left shortly after 9pm on Friday night, heading towards Salzburg via Munich. In Salzburg they will take part in a one-day tournament on Saturday, starting at 16:00 CEST. Immediately afterwards the Green-Whites will continue on towards the Zillertal Alps in Austria, where Fritz, Junuzovic and Co. will begin their second training camp in preparation for the 2015/16 season.
The international players are especially looking forward to the next few days. "It's a great feeling to be back on the pitch, having started to miss football during the break. I didn't touch a ball for a long time and I'm excited to find out if I will be able to control my first pass," said Zlatko Junuzovic with a smile on his face. The 27-year-old is looking for a productive pre-season in his home country with SVW.

Right back Theodor Gebre Selassie shares those feelings, as the Czech Republic international is also extremely happy "to finally be back with the team again". Izet Hajrovic even revealed that he had butterflies in his stomach during the past few days: "I was quite nervous on my last day of vacation. The start of a new season is always special. But once I stepped into the changing room and saw the faces of my team mates I immediately felt better. My mood quickly changed from being very nervous to having great anticipation for things to get started."
Jannik Vestergaard will not make the trip to the Zillertal Alps. The Danish U21 skipper was given an extended break following his involvement in Denmark's run the U21 EURO semi final in the Czech Republic. The SVW centre back agrees with the decision: "You need to recover both physically and mentally after a lengthy season. Hopefully I'll be right back at my best once the new season begins."
SV Werder began their journey towards Salzburg with the following 26 players:
Wolf, Gálvez, Lukimya, Makiadi, Fritz, Di Santo, Aycicek, Öztunali, Hajrovic, Pavlovic, Junuzovic, Kroos, Zander, Ulisses Garcia, Ujah, Bartels, Gebre Selassie, Hüsing, von Haacke, Grillitsch, Eggestein, Sternberg, Wiedwald, Bargfrede, Oelschlägel and Pachulski.
