Medical examinations at the Ruppiner Klinikum have confirmed that Lukas Fröde broke his nose during Saturday's friendly match against MSV Neuruppin. The training camp in Brandenburg has therefore come to an end early for the 20-year-old. He returned to Bremen on Sunday morning to undergo further treatment.
"This injury is a real shame for Lukas. We had hoped that all the players would get through the training camp without any injuries, but that's already no longer the case. We will wait and see what happens over the coming days before deciding early next week if surgery is necessary. We wish him a speedy recovery so that he's back on the training pitch soon," said head coach Viktor Skripnik.
The Bremen manager already had to do without Alejandro Gálvez in the first friendly of the season, with the Spaniard getting a blister on his foot during the high-intensity days of training.
