SV Werder Bremen will play one final friendly the week before the season starts, against English Premier League and Europa League participants, West Ham United. On Sunday, 2nd August, the Green-Whites will have one final warm up at the Boleyn Ground in London. The match against "The Hammers" kicks off at 16:00 CEST and will be shown live on WERDER.TV.
When the Green Whites travel to the English capital, Fritz, Vestergaard and Co. will have a really tough test against West Ham. The team from the East End of London finished twelfth in the Premier League last season, though they achieved qualification to the Europa League through their fair play ranking. The Hammers will start the season with a new manager after Croat Slaven Bilic took over from ex-manager Sam Allardyce.
Established in 1895, their European Cup Winners Cup win in 1965 remains the greatest success in the history of West Ham United. In addition, "The Hammers" have won the FA Cup on three occasions. Since 1904, West Ham have played their matches at the Boleyn Ground, otherwise know as Upton Park after the nearby underground station. But from 2016/17 the club are set to move into the Olympic Stadium in London. So it's likely to be the last chance for Werder fans to visit this historic stadium, during West Ham's final season. Tickets are available to buy on the day from the stadium ticket desks.

For those who are unable to travel to the island with the Green-Whites, there is also the opportunity for all subscribers to watch the game live at WERDER.TV, as well as other games against Neuruppin, 1860 München and FCZ Brünn.
