+ Best of luck to the U23s: Following the championship win in the Regionalliga Nord, the Werder U23s now face the challenge of the Regionalliga West winners Borussia Mönchengladbach in a two-legged play off for promotion to the 3. Liga. The first leg is later today (27/05/15) at 19:00 CEST on pitch 11 at the Weser Stadion. In order to be fully equipped for the promotion battle, Florian Bruns is appealing to all Werder fans: "I'm hoping for a brilliant atmosphere on pitch 11. Every Werder fan is welcome to come and watch the game and cheer the team on!" +++
++ Promotion "would not be a burden": Should Werder‘s U23s secure promotion on Saturday, there will be no financial problems according to Thomas Eichin. "The potential promotion to 3. Liga would not be a financial burden for us. Of course there are things that would cost a bit more, but on the other hand, promotion would bring many good opportunities for development", explained the 48 year old. "It makes a big difference to the players' development if they play in the 3. Liga instead of the Regionalliga. And even though it wasn't our primary goal, we obviously would love to go up." +++

++ On to Mallorca: Straight after the friendly against TSB Flensburg, the Werder team flew from Hamburg to Mallorca for a well earned rest. "The team will spend three days there, they have earned it. The trip has been paid for by Werder as a thank you for all their hard work. It gives them a chance to celebrate a little and review the season together", said Thomas Eichin. +++
++ Franco thanks the team behind the team: Werder striker Franco Di Santo thanked all the hard workers at Werder with a selfie collage on his official Instagram account on Tuesday. "Today I would like to thank all the people that you don't see on TV that put the hours in day in day out with the team, to help us be successful and ensure we are 100% and everything runs smoothly! A huge thanks to the physios, cleaners, doctors, team managers, caretakers and everyone else", thanked the 26 year old.
++ Goal scoring Queen: 2014/15 was a good season for Cindy König on two fronts! Firstly, she and the Werder womens team won promotion from the 2. Bundesliga, and secondly she finished as the league's top scorer with 19 goals. "I'm especially pleased to have defended my crown as top scorer. It's a great achievement for me, but it wouldn't have been possible without the many assists from my colleagues. Combined with the promotion to the Bundesliga, it has been a fantastic season!", said a delighted König. Second place was also taken by another Green White player - Stephanie Goddard managed 16 goals. WERDER.DE sends congratulations to both of them and wishes them all the best for the upcoming adventure into the Bundesliga! +++
