The Germany U20s set off for New Zealand yesterday (Monday, 25th May), where this year's World Cup will take place. Levin Öztunali is in Frank Wormuth's squad and is looking forward to the tournament: "Last year's U19 European Championship was unforgettable. Playing in a World Cup is also going to special." Goalkeeper Michael Zetterer was included in the squad, but has had to pull out through injury.
Öztunali, who joined Werder on loan from Bayer 04 Leverkusen in December, feels his side are one of the favourites for the title. "We have to concentrate from the onset and give ourselves as good a start as possible. We have a great team and certainly want to play more than three games out there," explained the 19-year-old.

Germany face Fiji, Uzbekistan and Honduras in the group stage. Öztunali, who featured in 16 of the 17 league games in 2015, doesn't know much about the opponents. "We're not too sure what to expect, however, the fact that they've qualified for a World Cup shows that they must be good. We're taking everyone seriously."
He doesn't know where he will be utilised yet: "I've played in all of the attacking roles and feel comfortable in them, so I'll play where I'm told. Winning the tournament would be a dream come true!"
