SV Werder Bremen are pleased to announce their first signing for next season. The Green-Whites have signed striker Anthony Ujah from 1. FC Köln. Ujah, who has scored ten goals so far this season, has signed a four year deal until 30th June 2019. The Nigeria international successfully completed his medical over the past few days.
"We've spent a lot of time watching him to build up a comprehensive picture. He's a quick striker who is dangerous in front of goal and will continue develop with us," said Werder sporting director Thomas Eichin. "Anthony ticks all the boxes - he plays with a lot of passion and power, he's very strong and strong in the air. We're convinced that Anthony Ujah fits in with our style of play," explained Rouven Schröder.
Anthony Ujah began his career at Norwegian first division side Lilleström SK before moving to 1. FSV Mainz 05 in 2011. The Nigeria international has made 42 Bundesliga appearances for Mainz and 1. FC Köln, as well as 62 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga. This season, the 24-year-old has scored ten goals and provided three assists for Köln.
