Ahead of the game with Eintracht Frankfurt, Werder manager Viktor Skripnik announced on Wednesday that there will be a number of players missing for Saturday's match. It's more than likely that the manager will be without three players. The game has come too soon for Jannik Vestergaard and Fin Bartels, who both took part in an individual training session on Wednesday. Alejandro Gálvez will also be unavailable due to a knee problem.
It's still unknown as to whether centre back Luca Caldirola will be fit to play at the weekend. The Italian and Gálvez were both unable to train today. It's also unclear as to whether Özkan Yildirim will be about to play against his former coach Thomas Schaaf. The 22-year-old had to cut training short and a diagnosis is to follow.
Felix Kroos was back on the training ground today as he took part in this morning's session after recovering from the bruised ribs that he suffered in the game against Paderborn. Philipp Bargfrede took part in an individual running session and the midfielder wants to return as quickly as possible.
