Zlatko Junuzovic and Alejandro Galvéz were both unable to take part in training with the Green-Whites on Thursday afternoon. Junuzovic has been unable to train since the start of the week but it is looking likely that he will return on Friday, whilst Gálvez missed training for the first time and could miss the game against Paderborn. Manager Viktor Skripnik announced the news at the press conference ahead of the game.
"We'll see how Zlatko responds but I'm hoping that he'll be back training fully tomorrow," said Skripnik. But you could tell that the Ukrainian was not happy about the absence of Alejandro Gálvez. "Alejandro has a problem with his knee. He definitely won't be able to train on Friday. Hopefully he'll be available for the game in Paderborn." He also explained that the current injuries will give opportunities to other players. "I'm happy for the players that are fighting to get in the side. A good example of that is Assani Lukimya. He came on for Jannik Vestergaard in the game against Hamburg and did brilliantly. I'd like to see the same again," said Skripnik.
There was some good news from the training ground as Melvyn Lorenzen trained with a ball for the first time on Thursday after taking part in running exercises again on Wednesday. It's a step forward in the striker's quest to return to team training.
