In superb weather, the Green-Whites took to their new bikes for a ride along the Weser. Jannik Vestergaard, Davie Selke, Levin Öztunali and Michael Zetterer were not able to take part. Vestergaard is currently waiting for further diagnosis on his injury, whilst Selke, Öztunali and Zetterer are currently with the Germany Under-20 side and will take part in a friendly on Tuesday, 21st April against Italy at 15:00 CEST. +++
+++Praise for Junuzovic: Manager Viktor Skripnik was full of praise for Zlatko Junuzovic after the derby victory. In the manager's eyes, the Austrian was a deciding factor in the win: "Juno played really well and was involved in the crucial incident. I'm delighted that we saw the Junuzovic that we all know again against HSV. I'm hoping that he can put in similar performances in our next few games."+++

+++Touching moment for "Pico" Schütz: Before the derby kicked off, there was a minutes applause in memory of "Pico" Schütz. At the family's request, Werder and HSV fans honoured the memory of Schütz with applause rather than silence. Schütz passed away last Tuesday at the age of 80. +++
+++Finally back in Bundesliga action: The north derby against HSV was particularly special for Özkan Yildirim. The 22-year-old was back in the Green-Whites squad for the first time since 26th January 2014 and was thrown straight into the starting line-up. "It was a great feeling to play in front of 40,000 fans after such a long time out. Obviously I was more nervous than usual," said the midfielder after the game. +++

+++Di Santo is "Man of the Match": Franco Di Santo was voted Volkswagen "Man of the Match" after the derby win by Werder fans on the official Facebook page of SVW. The striker scored the only goal of the game against HSV as he coolly converted from the penalty spot to score his 13th goal of the season. +++
+++Handball women win title: The SV Werder women's handball team have done it! Radek Lewicki's side have won the 3. Liga Nord title with a game to spare and have therefore been promoted to the 2. Bundesliga. Rivals TSG Wismar lost 24-26 on Saturday at home against Nord Harrislee, which handed Bremen the title. Lewicki, who will leave Bremen at the end of the season, was delighted: "I've achieved my aim and my dream has come true!" +++
