It's almost derby time at the Weser-Stadion! On Sunday (15:30 CEST), SV Werder will welcome Hamburger SV for the 102nd meeting between the two sides. Sebastian Prödl is available again after serving is suspension and Özkan Yildirim is back in the squad for the first time this season for the Green-Whites.

Clemens Fritz will play against Hamburger SV for the 20th time on Sunday. Werder's captain is the player from either side with the most appearances in this fixture. You would have thought that these games are just routine for him now but the 34-year-old believes that every derby is a "special event." "HSV will have their backs against the wall. I think that they'll fight until the last minute," said Clemens Fritz. Fritz also believes that the new manager will be motivation for Bruno Labbadia's men: "We're expecting to see a different Hamburg team compared to the last few weeks. The new manager will give them a new impetus for the end of season run in." Nevertheless, SV Werder's captain believes they can come away with all three points: "We want to win the game for the fans. We'll go into the derby with passion, commitment and aggression. Everyone in the side is looking forward to the game!"

Manager Viktor Skripnik is demanding that Fritz and Co. give 100% against HSV: "We lost to bottom of the table last week and we know how tough it'll be against Hamburg. They will demand a lot from us. We'll do our best and play to our strengths," said the Ukrainian ahead of the game.
