The majority of the Werder players took part in a recovery session on Tuesday. After the intense start to the second half of the Bundesliga season, which included two sets of midweek games, Viktor Skripnik wants to use the international break to recharge the batteries of his players. "We're giving the players a couple of days off and are keeping things fun," said the Werder manager.
The two weeks of training, that are split by the friendly against Kosovo on Friday, 27th March (18:30 CET), give the staff the opportunity to introduce players coming back from injury back into the team. Whilst players are preparing for the upcoming friendlies and European qualifiers on international duty and the rest of the Green-Whites squad were relaxing, a quintet of players were back at the Weser-Stadion.
Julian von Haacke, Melvyn Lorenzen, Özkan Yildirim and Alejandro Gálvez, who have all come through rehab, as well as Luca Caldirola were all back on the training ground this morning. After their individual training sessions, Gálvez and Caldirola relaxed in the pool in the changing room, which is exactly what Skripnik wanted them to do.
