+++ Bargfrede back in training: Philipp Bargfrede was back in first team training for Werder on Thursday morning. The 25 year old was ruled out for two and a half weeks in the build up to the Augsburg game with a pelvic injury. Whether or not he will make an appearance in the away game against Freiburg remains to be seen. Including Bargfrede, Viktor Skripnik had all of his players available for the one hour session. +++
+++ Eggestein and Husic called up: A great honour for Werder's Maximilian Eggestein. The 18 year old, who signed his first professional contract for the Green-Whites in the last week, was invited by the U-19 national coach Marcus Sorg to attend a training course at Kaiserau sports school. For Eggestein it is the first call up to represent a DFB team. He will be supported by goalkeeper Raif Husic, who is also in the 27- man squad. Werder's U-23 player Leon Guwara is on standby.+++

+++ Donations made: In the build up to the cup game against SVW Arminia Bielefeld, club president and CEO Dr. Hubertus Hess-Grunewald, along with Marco Uhlig, the CEO of Arminia, gave cheques amounting to 12,810 Euros to Werder fan Malte Kock. He was the victim of a fan attack in 2012 during a third division match between Bielefeld and Werder's U-23 and was in critical condition. As the perpetrators were penniless, Koch was left to pay the legal fees of 2,734 Euros. The fans from both clubs donated to cover the costs and the clubs contributed 2,000 Euros collectively. The surplus funds have been donated to the "Weißer Ring" in Bielefeld, a project that supports victims of crime and violence. "SV Werder value tolerance and are against violence and hostility. These donations are a fantastic gesture and we thank everyone who donated", explained Hess-Grunewald. +++
