Zlatko Junuzovic will continue wearing Werder colours! The Green-Whites have agreed a contract extension with the 27-year-old midfielder, keeping him at the club until 30th June 2018. His previous deal was due to expire at the end of the season. The Austria international signed his new contract on Friday afternoon at the Weser-Stadion.
"We're delighted that our optimism of recent days has proven to be justified. We had very good talks. Zlatko Junuzovic identifies himself greatly with SV Werder Bremen and will no doubt continue to cause a stir here. It's a real statement in terms of us aiming to continue along the path we're on. He is one of the faces of Werder," said sporting director Thomas Eichin.

Manager Viktor Skripnik is also thrilled that Junuzovic, who has been involved in the most goals at Bremen this season, has decided to stay with the club long term. "He is an important part of this team. Young players can learn from the likes of Zlatko Junuzovic. He can make a vital contribution to us having a functioning team," explained the Werder boss.
Extending with the club was a matter very close to Junuzovic's heart: "Werder has become my second home over recent years and you can see that we're on a good path in terms of what we're doing on the pitch. I'm extending my contact fully confident that we can achieve extraordinary things with this team, with this group of staff and above all with these fans."
Zlatko Junuzovic has made 90 Bundesliga and three DFB Cup appearances for Werder Bremen so far. The 27-year-old has scored nine goals and provided 17 assists in the league and has set up one cup goal. The Yugoslavian-born Austria international has also won 32 caps for his adopted country, netting four goals.
