Brave, attacking, successful - the Werder stars showed these traits in their last home game. They are unbeaten in five at the Weser-Stadion. Things haven't been as good on the road so far. They are hoping to change this on Wednesday (4th February, 20:00 CET) when they travel to 1899 Hoffenheim.

The atmosphere in the SV Werder camp is good ahead of the first away match of 2015. The team have put in good performances in training, which is in no small part down to Viktor Skripnik and his team. "Viktor is outstanding. We're progressing all of the time," said sporting director Thomas Eichin. "The next step is to pick up more points away from home. We've put in good performances on the road this season but have come away empty handed," added Eichin. The head coach will be without Zlatko Junuzovic (Five yellow cards) for the game in Hoffenheim, but remains optimistic ahead of the match.

Skripnik: "We can't hide"

In order to achieve these goals, Skripnik's side will need to perform like they did in their last home game. "We can't hide and only react to things," said the head coach. Some of the key features that contributed to home successes have been lacking in away matches at times. Consequently, experience is key: "That's a big difference, especially for the youngsters. Stress comes into it. It's a different set of circumstances, a different pitch and a different environment." Skripnik is hoping the players draw on the positives of the previous game. "We are in high spirits and have faith in our strengths."

The following squad of 18 players will be on duty for Werder in Hoffenheim:

Raphael Wolf, Koen Casteels - Santiago Garcia, Luca Caldirola, Alejandro Gálvez, Assani Lukimya, Jannik Vestergaard, Clemens Fritz, Franco Di Santo, Levin Öztunali, Izet Hajrovic, Felix Kroos, Levent Aycicek, Fin Bartels, Theodor Gebre Selassie, Davie Selke, Janek Sternberg, Philipp Bargfrede
