Lemke becomes UN special adviser

Late on Tuesday afternoon, 18.03.2008, the UN general secretary Ban Ki Mon called up Willi Lemke to become ‘UN Special Adviser for Sport’ in the service of development and peace. The chairman of the Werder Bremen board was delighted about the honour: “I am very happy. It is an unbelievable acknowledgement.”

Daniel Jensen suffers groin strain

Daniel Jensen has been ruled out for the immediate future with a groin strain. On Sunday, 16.03.2008, the Danish international had to be substituted against VfL Wolfsburg as early as the 40th minute. It is momentarily unclear as to when the midfield man will be able to return to the team.
